Rock excavation process for luxury home foundations in Calpe

Every construction project begins long before concrete, steel or architectural details become visible. One of the most important early stages is the plot excavation in Calpe, especially in areas like the Costa Blanca where terrain conditions can vary significantly from one site to another

At Project 033, located in the La Canuta residential area of Calpe, excavation works are currently underway as we prepare the foundations for the future home. As anticipated in the geotechnical report carried out before construction began, we encountered a significant amount of natural rock during the excavation process.

Although rock formations increase excavation complexity, construction times and foundation costs, they also provide an excellent structural base for the future house. Building directly on solid rock offers long-term stability and reliability, which is particularly important in luxury residential construction.

During this phase, the client visited the site to follow the progress of the works and better understand how the house will sit within the terrain. To help visualize the final position and height of the future terrace, we created a simple temporary reference point directly on site. Even in a very rustic way, this allowed the client to physically experience the future scale, views and relationship between the house and the surrounding landscape.

We believe that construction is not only about technical execution, but also about involving clients in the process and helping them understand how their future home gradually takes shape from the very first stages of the project.
